“Ho, ho, ho!
From out the forest I now appear
To proclaim that Christmas tide is here..”
At this year’s Christmas Party students in their 1st, 2nd, and 4th year of Studies came together to celebrate the end of the year 2017.
Therefore we rented the so called “ESG Cafete” near the University of Augsburg where, in a cozy atmosphere, our freshmen had the chance to get to know each other even better and connect with students from other years.
A fun program led through the evening including activities such as re-interpreting German Christmas songs. The students formed groups of ten in which they worked out new texts or ways to present the songs which, afterwards, they performed in front of the others.
Of course, our new born singer-songwriters also took part in the traditional Christmas-Cookie-Competition. All kinds of cookies, prepared at home, were presented and a jury then announced the happy winner who was honored with a delicious Christmas package.
Even Santa Clause dropped by – welcomed by tremendous applause and an anthem that you would recognize from a boxing match. He surprised everyone with a poem about what has been happening during the year. He talked about the “GBM Family”, the past events, and some gossip that earned a great deal of laughter.
Despite those activities there was enough time to just sit back, have a chat, listen to Christmas songs and, of course, have a cup of mulled wine, or two. 🙂
“..to this town I’ve still to go,
Where students are good, I know.”
